Established on January 13, 2020, as part of the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government’s initiative, the commissionerate system has redefined policing in the state capital. Operation Conviction and Major Crime Control

Under “Operation Conviction,” 329 criminals were convicted, while actions under the Gangsters Act led to the arrest of 201 offenders and the seizure of ₹1 billion worth of assets. Cybercrime units apprehended 123 cybercriminals and returned ₹1.26 billion to victims. Initiatives like “Operation Savera,” “Morning Walk Policing,” and “Gram Chaupal” have fostered direct engagement with citizens, building a new sense of security and trust within the community.

  • Swift Crime Resolutions:
    • Resolved 94 out of 94 murder cases, except one under active investigation.
    • Solved 14 out of 15 robbery cases and recovered stolen items.
    • Bank theft in Chinhat was resolved in 24 hours, with one suspect neutralized and four arrested.
    • Multiple high-profile cases, including acid attacks, were resolved with arrests.
  • Cybercrime Control:
    • Registered 539 suspicious accounts and detained 123 individuals involved in cyber fraud, including 14 juveniles.
    • Conducted awareness workshops in schools and corporate offices to educate citizens on cyber safety.
  • Traffic Management:
    • Issued challans for over 1 million vehicles violating traffic rules and impounded 2,810 vehicles.
    • Collected ₹68.2 million in fines from violators.
