Ankkit Poddar Brings a Gripping Thriller Set Against the Backdrop of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh
Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Dreams can take people to extraordinary heights, but when ambition is overshadowed by greed, power, and an obsession with shortcuts, those very dreams can become the cause of destruction. Exploring this intriguing and darker side of human nature are actor-producer Ankkit Poddar and producer Abhijit Shukla. Their upcoming untitled crime thriller, under the banner of Celestia Pictures, will delve into the untold layers of power, politics, ambition, and human choices against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Having grown up in Ranchi, Jharkhand, Ankkit Poddar’s experiences of living and working across different cities have given him an opportunity to closely understand the social realities of India’s heartland. He believes that these regions are home to immense talent, struggle, and an unwavering desire to move forward, alongside circumstances that often influence people to choose different paths in life.
Poddar says, “Ambition can build empires, but it can also destroy lives. Everything depends on the path a person chooses to fulfil their dreams.” What sets this crime thriller apart is its approach of exploring crime without glorifying it. Instead, the film seeks to understand the emotions, motivations, and circumstances that drive individuals towards life-altering decisions. The narrative will offer a glimpse into social relationships, local influence, personal loyalties, and the unseen equations of power that shape human behaviour.
The project is currently in the pre-production stage, with the team scouting locations across Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The film’s title and cast details are being kept under wraps for now.
Ankkit Poddar and Abhijit Shukla are working towards crafting a compelling story that promises not only to entertain audiences but also to make them reflect on a thought-provoking question: how thin is the line between success and destruction?
