Nutrition Kits Distributed to TB Patients at BBAU; Campaign to Continue for Six Months

Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University organized a Nutrition Kit Distribution Programme on 17 September with the objective of supporting TB patients and addressing their nutritional needs. This state-wide campaign was initiated under the guidance of the Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, on the occasion of the 76th birth anniversary of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The programme was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal. Apart from this, Prof. S. Victor Babu, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Ashwini Kumar Singh, Registrar, Dr. Ravi Shankar Verma and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vikas Srivastava were also prominently present on the occasion. As part of the campaign, voluntary contributions were made by the teachers and employees of the University, through which the required nutritional items were procured. These items were assembled into nutrition kits and distributed among TB patients.

On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal wished the TB patients a speedy recovery and said that along with medical treatment, adequate nutrition and emotional support are also essential in the fight against tuberculosis. He stated that the goal of a TB-free India can be achieved only through the collective participation of all sections of society. He assured the patients that the University would extend all possible support and assistance towards their treatment and well-being. Prof. Mittal appreciated the contribution made by the teachers and employees of the University towards the campaign and said that their participation reflects a strong sense of social responsibility, sensitivity and spirit of service. He further emphasized that teachers, employees and all citizens should understand their responsibility towards underprivileged and needy sections of society and actively participate in such welfare-oriented initiatives. Such efforts not only provide support to those in need but also strengthen the spirit of social responsibility and service among the youth.

Under this campaign, the University will continue distributing nutrition kits to TB patients for the next six months. During this period, efforts will be made to provide continued nutritional support to patients in need.
Prof. Shalini Agrawal, Prof. Sanjay Kumar, Prof. Rachana Gangwar, Prof. Mahendra Kumar Padhy, Dr. Manoj Kumar Dadwal other faculty members and TB patients were present during the programme.
