Gonda: Congress workers in Gonda celebrated the appointment of senior MLA Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’ as the new president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC), with party workers distributing sweets and welcoming the organisational change.
The Congress announced on October 2 that Mishra, a three-time MLA from Rampur Khas and former Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Uttar Pradesh, would replace Ajay Rai as the state unit chief. The party also appointed Saharanpur MP Imran Masood as working president, while Virendra Chaudhary was named Leader of the Congress Legislature Party. Alok Prasad and Devinder Nishad were appointed senior vice presidents.

Gonda City Congress Committee president Shahid Ali Qureshi led the celebrations along with office-bearers and workers. Participants exchanged sweets and welcomed Mishra’s appointment. Qureshi congratulated the central leadership and said the new organisational leadership had generated enthusiasm among party workers.
Workers also welcomed the appointments of Virendra Chaudhary as legislature party leader, Imran Masood as working president, and Alok Prasad and Devinder Nishad as senior vice presidents.

Qureshi said Congress office-bearers would work with commitment for the party in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He also expressed confidence in the new organisational team.
