Bareilly: In view of the ongoing Ala Hazrat Urs, District Magistrate Avinash Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya conducted a joint flag march and foot patrol with police and administrative officials on Thursday, assuring pilgrims and local residents of adequate security arrangements.
The officials inspected key areas including Islamia Ground, Dargah Road, Biharipur Police Outpost, Islamia Market and Patel Chowk. They reviewed police deployment, security arrangements along important routes and measures put in place at sensitive locations.
During the patrol, the DM and SSP directed police and administrative personnel on duty to remain fully alert and discharge their responsibilities diligently. They also instructed officials to maintain effective surveillance at sensitive and important locations and take immediate action on receiving information about any suspicious activity.
The officials interacted with pilgrims, local residents and shopkeepers and assured them of their safety. They appealed to the public to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood during the Urs and not to pay attention to rumours.
District Magistrate Avinash Singh said all necessary arrangements had been made to ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims and the general public during the Urs. He added that police and administrative teams were continuously patrolling the area and monitoring the situation, stressing that maintaining peace and harmony remained the administration’s top priority.
SSP Anurag Arya directed police officers to ensure that there was no lapse in security during the Urs and that prompt action was taken against any activity that could disturb law and order. The presence of senior police and administrative officials during the march further strengthened the sense of security among pilgrims and residents.
SP City Manush Parikh, SP Traffic Akmal Khan, ADM City Avinash Tripathi, City Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Verma and other administrative officials and police personnel participated in the flag march.
