Bareilly: Divisional Commissioner Shambhu Kumar carried out an inspection on Thursday of the ongoing construction work being undertaken under the Nath Corridor project.
During the inspection, it was found that work on the passenger rest house being built at Alakhnath Temple was still underway. The Commissioner directed the project manager of UPPCL, the agency executing the work, to ensure all pending construction is completed by November, while making it clear that there should be no compromise whatsoever on the quality of the work. He also instructed the Tourism Officer to keep a close watch on all ongoing construction activity through regular inspections and to submit a proper work plan for the project.
The Commissioner further directed that cleanliness be maintained at all active construction sites without delay, and that the temple entrances be designed and decorated in a manner that makes them visually appealing to visitors. He also called for the swift completion of a dharamshala at the temples, meant to provide accommodation for devotees who wish to stay back.
Emphasising the need for durability, the Commissioner said special attention must be paid to the quality of construction, ensuring the work holds up strong over the long term rather than requiring repairs down the line.
Following this, the Divisional Commissioner also inspected the focus wall located at the temple premises, where he directed the executing agency to ensure the wall’s construction is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The visit concluded with the Divisional Commissioner performing “Jalabhishek” and offering prayers at the Trivatinath Temple.
