Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal Conducts Surprise Inspection at Babu Ishwar Sharan Hospital, Orders Immediate Repair of Ventilators

Gonda: In a bid to strengthen healthcare services, Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal carried out a surprise inspection at Babu Ishwar Sharan Hospital, a hospital affiliated with the autonomous state medical college.

During the inspection, the commissioner thoroughly reviewed key facilities, including the emergency ward, OPD, and general wards. She closely examined cleanliness standards and directed officials to ensure that patients are provided with clean bedsheets that are changed regularly. She also instructed that all coolers installed in the wards be made fully functional, especially in view of the rising temperatures.

A major concern highlighted during the visit was the condition of ventilator machines. Several ventilators were found to be non-functional, prompting strong displeasure from Nagpal. She directed the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) to ensure immediate repair of all faulty ventilators so that critically ill patients do not face any inconvenience.

The commissioner further emphasized the need to ensure the availability of safe drinking water for patients and their attendants. She stressed that basic amenities must be easily accessible to everyone visiting the hospital.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment to public health, Nagpal said that providing quality healthcare services to patients must remain the top priority. She warned that negligence at any level would not be tolerated and instructed the hospital administration to work with greater sensitivity and accountability to improve overall facilities.
