New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Suresh Gopi has created history by winning the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat in Kerala by a margin of 74,686 votes. Former Rajya Sabha member Gopi registered a spectacular victory by defeating his nearest rival CPI’s VS Sunil Kumar by a margin of 74,686 votes.
Congress wins seven out of eight seats
The Election Commission has declared the results of eight out of 20 seats in Kerala. According to the commission, Congress has won seven seats while BJP has won one seat. BJP’s Suresh Gopi has won the Thrissur seat by a margin of 74,686 votes over his nearest rival CPI’s VS Sunil Kumar.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has won the Wayanad seat by a margin of more than 3 lakh 64 thousand votes. With this, Congress candidate Shashi Tharoor has won the Thiruvananthapuram seat by more than 16 thousand votes from BJP candidate and former Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar. Venugopal won the Alappuzha seat by more than 63 thousand votes, Benny Behanan won the Chalakudy seat by 63 thousand 754 votes, sitting MP Hibi Eden won the Ernakulam seat by a margin of 250385 votes and Advocate Dean Kuriakos won the Idukki seat by a margin of more than 1 lakh 33 thousand votes.
