Ayodhya Intensifies Safety Inspections of Coaching Institutes Following Lucknow Fire Incident

Ayodhya: In the wake of the recent fire incident in Lucknow, the Ayodhya district administration has stepped up safety inspections across educational institutions, with a special focus on coaching centres to ensure the safety of students and staff.

District officials, accompanied by police personnel, conducted surprise inspections at several coaching institutes in the Civil Lines area and other parts of the city. The drive aimed to assess preparedness for emergencies and verify compliance with fire and safety regulations.

During the inspections, authorities examined fire-fighting equipment, emergency exit routes, electrical installations and other critical safety infrastructure. Officials closely reviewed the availability and condition of fire extinguishers, evacuation arrangements and emergency response mechanisms within the institutions.

Administrative officers instructed coaching centre operators to strictly adhere to prescribed safety norms and ensure that all emergency systems remain fully functional at all times. They emphasized the importance of regular maintenance and preparedness to effectively handle any unforeseen situation.

The administration made it clear that student safety remains its highest priority. Officials warned that institutions found neglecting mandatory safety standards could face action under applicable regulations. Coaching operators were also advised to address any shortcomings identified during the inspection process without delay.

The safety review is not limited to coaching centres alone. Authorities have announced similar inspections at schools, libraries and other public facilities that attract large gatherings. The broader objective is to minimize the risk of accidents and strengthen safety measures across the district.

Officials said the ongoing exercise reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring a secure environment for students and the general public, while promoting greater awareness and compliance with fire safety standards.
