Lucknow: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two officials of the Enforcement Directorate’s Lucknow Zone office, an Enforcement Officer and a Head Constable, in an alleged bribery case.
The agency registered its case against the Head Constable and other unidentified ED officials after receiving a complaint. According to the complaint, the Head Constable asked the complainant’s father for a bribe, promising to help him in a matter being handled by the ED. The father had been summoned by the Lucknow Zone office twice, in August and September 2026.

Acting on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap. Its team caught the Head Constable red-handed as he demanded and accepted ₹5 lakh, allegedly on behalf of the Enforcement Officer, in return for favourable treatment of the complainant’s father in the ED case.

Both officials have been taken into custody, the CBI said.
