Lucknow: Residents and commuters in the Malviya Nagar ward are facing problems due to heaps of garbage, foul smells and traffic congestion near Bulaki Adda, raising questions about sanitation and civic management in the city.
According to local complaints, large quantities of wet and rotting waste have accumulated along a major road near Bulaki Adda. Vehicles parked on the road have further obstructed traffic, making it difficult for commuters to pass through the area. The stench from the garbage has reportedly made the stretch particularly unpleasant for pedestrians and residents.

The accumulation of waste in a densely populated neighbourhood has also raised concerns about hygiene and the potential spread of disease. Residents have alleged that regular cleaning and insecticide spraying are inadequate in the area.
The condition of a nearby horse-cart stand and toilet facilities has added to concerns over sanitation. A marriage hall is also reportedly under construction close to the garbage dump, raising questions about the surrounding environment.

Locals have urged the municipal authorities, particularly the Municipal Commissioner, to visit the site, assess the situation and ensure immediate garbage removal, proper sanitation and measures to prevent traffic obstruction.
The situation has prompted residents to question the city’s smart urban development claims, stressing that effective waste management and basic civic amenities must remain a priority.
