Rajkot: Indian Under-19 batter Lakshya Raichandani produced a magnificent double-century in the Youth Test against Australia in Rajkot, remaining unbeaten on 210 to put India in a commanding position.
Raichandani faced 256 deliveries and struck 20 fours and four sixes during his memorable innings. His outstanding knock played a key role in India’s strong first-innings performance after Australia were bowled out for 217.
India reached 430/8, establishing a substantial 213-run first-innings lead over Australia. Yashvardhan Chauhan contributed a valuable 54, while Mohit Ulwa remained unbeaten on 58 to provide further solidity to the Indian innings.
India’s bowlers had earlier set up the platform, with Ishan Om claiming five wickets and Mohit Ulwa taking three wickets to restrict the Australian batting line-up.
Raichandani’s unbeaten double century has emerged as the highlight of India’s impressive performance in Rajkot and has placed the Under-19 side in a strong position in the match.
His performance also drew appreciation from Tarabganj MLA Prem Narayan Pandey, Gaura MLA Prabhat Verma, Mehnon MLA Vinay Dwivedi, district president Akbal Bahadur Tiwari, Neeraj Maurya and Babbu Ojha, who expressed their happiness over the young batter’s achievement.
