A delightful blend of mangoes, culture, creativity, and family fun draws enthusiastic crowds at Fun Republic Mall
Lucknow: Celebrating the king of fruits and its deep connection with Indian culture, the three-day Mango Festival at Fun Republic Mall concluded on Sunday amid great enthusiasm and participation from visitors across the city. Held from May 29 to May 31, the festival brought together a rich showcase of mango varieties, culinary innovations, cultural activities, and creative competitions, offering Lucknow residents a memorable summer experience.
The festival was inaugurated by renowned chef Nandini Motiani and quickly became a major attraction for families, food lovers, and children. One of the highlights of the event was the display of nearly 30 varieties of mangoes sourced from different parts of India. Popular varieties such as Banganapalli, Alphonso, Totapuri, Sindhura, Mallika, Ram Kela, Langra, Chausa, Safeda, Kesar, and the iconic Dussehri captivated visitors and highlighted the diversity of India’s agricultural heritage.
The second day of the festival featured an exciting Fancy Dress Competition for children aged between 4 and 14 years. The young participants impressed the audience with colorful costumes and imaginative performances. While some appeared as fairies and fantasy characters, others delivered meaningful messages through portrayals of trees, environmental conservation, the Sun, space exploration, mangoes, and historical figures such as Rani Padmini. Their confidence, creativity, and stage presence earned loud applause from parents and visitors alike.
The closing day added another layer of excitement with a Cold Cooking Competition for women, where participants showcased their culinary skills by preparing a variety of innovative mango-based dishes. More than 100 participants across different age groups took part in the contest, demonstrating both creativity and passion for cooking.

Visitors were treated not only to fresh mango tastings but also to an impressive range of mango-inspired delicacies. Special attractions included mango chaat, mango dahi bhalla, mango kulfi, shrikhand, mango cheesecake, mango paratha, and several other inventive recipes that introduced guests to unique and delicious ways of enjoying the beloved fruit.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikalp Saxena, General Manager of Fun Republic Mall, said, “Mangoes are an integral part of Indian culture, traditions, and cherished family memories. Our aim was to create a platform where taste, heritage, entertainment, and family participation could come together. The overwhelming response from children, women, and families made this festival truly successful and memorable.”
Beyond being a celebration of mangoes, the festival emerged as a vibrant showcase of Indian culture, family values, creativity, and community spirit. By combining food, entertainment, and cultural engagement, the event succeeded in creating a festive atmosphere that resonated with visitors of all ages.
