Traders Unite Against Kursi Road Master Plan 2031; Plan to Meet Rajnath Singh

Lucknow: Traders, entrepreneurs, property owners, and representatives of educational and religious institutions along Kursi Road have united to oppose the proposed Kursi Road Master Plan 2031, demanding its reconsideration.

At a meeting held at a hotel on Kursi Road, participants expressed serious concerns over the proposed plan, stating that its implementation could severely impact livelihoods and displace thousands of families. The gathering resolved to form a delegation soon to meet Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh and seek his intervention in the matter.

The meeting was attended by prominent representatives including Anjani Pandey, Kamlesh Yadav, Rishi Trivedi, Chandramouli Shukla, Pankaj Tiwari, along with entrepreneurs Aradhana Kumar and Mohammad Saleem, among many others.

Participants termed the Master Plan 2031 as a threat to the livelihood of thousands, asserting that they would make every possible effort to halt its implementation. They announced that a delegation of traders and stakeholders would soon meet Rajnath Singh either in Lucknow or New Delhi to present their concerns and request immediate intervention.

According to details shared during the meeting, the plan proposes significant road widening along Kursi Road: from Tedhi Pulia to Sikanderpur Chauraha up to 45 meters, from Sikanderpur Chauraha to Corporation Bank in Mishrapur up to 80 meters, from Corporation Bank to Basha up to 150 meters, and from Basha to Behta up to 100 meters.

Stakeholders warned that if implemented, the project could lead to large-scale demolition of shops, residential buildings, multi-storey complexes, hotels, hostels, and even religious structures. They emphasized that such action would not only jeopardize lifetime investments but also create a severe livelihood crisis for thousands of families.

The meeting concluded with a collective call for dialogue and reconsideration of the plan, stressing the need for a balanced approach that safeguards both urban development and the interests of local communities.
