Mumbai: In a world where stories, emotions and relationships travel across continents, language remains one of our deepest shared roots. Spoken by millions across the globe, Hindi is not merely a means of communication but a living tradition of culture, history and expression that connects people across regions and generations. On World Hindi Day—dedicated to celebrating the global relevance of Hindi and promoting its richness beyond borders—beloved artists from Sony SAB reflected on what this timeless language means to them, both personally and professionally.
Avinash Rekhi, who essays the role of Lord Shiva in Gatha Shiv Parivar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey, shared how deeply Hindi influences his performance. “The moment I step onto the set, Hindi naturally becomes my emotional anchor. I pay attention to the pauses between words, the softness or strength in a sentence, and how a single expression can change the entire meaning. It is through Hindi that I truly feel a character come alive. On World Hindi Day, I am reminded that this language goes beyond geography—it quietly connects hearts and cultures across the world, allowing people from different places to experience the same devotion, joy and emotion,” he said.

Shrenu Parikh, who portrays Goddess Parvati in the same show, spoke about her early connection with the language. “I still remember listening to Hindi stories and verses during my childhood that stayed with me long after they were told. Over time, I realised that Hindi is not just something we speak, it is something we feel. As an actor, it helps me reach the emotional core of Parvati and connect with audiences across the country. On World Hindi Day, I celebrate a language that feels like home and belongs to everyone,” she remarked.

Sumbul Touqeer Khan, seen as Anvita in Itti Si Khushi, highlighted the inclusive and grounding nature of Hindi. “There is something incredibly rooted about Hindi—it feels like home and yet belongs to everyone. The language has a unique power to travel across regions, accents and backgrounds while retaining the same warmth and emotional depth. As one of our official languages, it beautifully brings together inclusivity and identity. On World Hindi Day, I feel proud to be part of stories told in Hindi, because they do more than entertain—they connect us, comfort us and keep us rooted in who we are,” she said.
Viewers can watch Gatha Shiv Parivar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey and Itti Si Khushi from Monday to Saturday, only on Sony SAB.
