Lucknow: Lucknow, the city of Ganga-Jamuni Tahzeeb, is gearing up for a unique blend of fitness and social impact as Amity BHAAG India – Race for Girl Child Education takes place on Sunday, 21st September 2025.
More than just a sporting event, this marathon is a social movement by Amitasha, ensuring every girl child in India receives her right to education. With the inspiring theme “Run for HER Right to Learn”, participants will gather at Amity International School, Vrindavan Yojna, from 5:30 AM onwards, to take strides that symbolize both health and meaningful social change.
At the heart of this initiative lies Amitasha-a dream nurtured by Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson of Amity Group of Schools, who firmly believes that educating a girl child means educating an entire family, and ultimately, the nation.
Founded in 2000 with just 35 girl students, Amitasha today provides completely free education, meals, books, uniforms, and healthcare to more than 1,000 less privileged girls through its three schools in Delhi/NCR. Nurtured from Nursery to Class XII, Amitasha students receive holistic development opportunities across academics, cultural activities, vocational training, and global exposure. Many have excelled in CBSE examinations and higher education, proving that with the right support, every girl can shine.
The marathon will feature 3 km and 5 km run categories, with attractive cash prizes for the winners. Registrations are open for all age groups at www.amitybhaagindia.com. Early registration is encouraged to secure slots.
