ABVP Submits Memorandum to Lucknow University VC Demanding Resolution of Student Issues

Lucknow: The Lucknow University unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor of the university, raising several student-related concerns and demanding their prompt resolution.

The ABVP delegation highlighted key issues, including the recent fee hike in undergraduate courses and various semester programmes, and demanded its immediate rollback. The students’ body also raised concerns over basic amenities on campus, particularly the quality of drinking water, urging the administration to conduct proper testing and ensure the availability of clean and chilled drinking water for students.

Another major issue flagged in the memorandum was the non-functional air conditioning system in the Cyber Library, which has reportedly been out of order for a long time. The organization also demanded smooth and uninterrupted internet connectivity in the library to support academic work.

The ABVP further gave the university administration a deadline of four working days to address these concerns.

Speaking on the occasion, ABVP state secretary Arpan Kushwaha said that the university administration must remain sensitive to student issues. He stated that the fee hike and lack of basic facilities are adversely affecting students’ academic environment. He also warned that if prompt action is not taken, the organization may be compelled to launch a larger student movement.

ABVP Lucknow Metropolitan Minister Sarita Pandey emphasized that basic facilities such as clean drinking water, a proper study environment, and reliable internet access are essential for students. She said that the ongoing issues in the Cyber Library, including faulty air conditioning and disrupted internet services, are causing significant inconvenience and must be addressed immediately.

Lucknow University unit president Jai Srivastava stated that ABVP has always remained committed to safeguarding student interests. He said that the fee hike has placed an additional financial burden on economically weaker students and urged the administration to prioritize student welfare and resolve the issues at the earliest.

Several ABVP office bearers and members were present during the submission of the memorandum, including Lucknow division organization minister Pushpendra Bajpai, National Kala Manch provincial coordinator Harshika Singh, Lucknow North district convenor Abhishek Singh, university unit vice president Vartika Kushwaha, Aryan Sharma, Kaustubh, unit minister Aryan Kushwaha, co-minister Ashutosh Tripathi, Kala Manch convenor Tanu Yadav, Akshay Dwivedi, Utkarsh, Utsav Patel, Harshit, Siddharth, Avadhendra Tiwari, Rahul Rajput, Harshit Shukla, Utkarsh Singh, Abhishek Upadhyay, along with several other activists.
