LUCKNOW – Samajwadi Party’s National President and former Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, has stated that a chaotic atmosphere prevails in the state under the BJP government, with law and order having collapsed completely. He also criticized the government on various fronts, including a failing power system, agricultural distress, and a lack of support for flood victims.
In a statement, Yadav highlighted the plight of farmers, who he said are struggling to get fertilizers for their crops. “Farmers are not getting fertilizers even after waiting for hours in queues and facing immense trouble,” he said, accusing the government of failing to curb black marketing and profiteering. He claimed that the BJP government’s promises to farmers are hollow and that all its work exists only on paper, with no real action on the ground.
Yadav also expressed deep concern over the severe flood situation affecting several districts. He stated that millions of people are facing a crisis for food, shelter, medicine, and treatment, yet the government is not providing any assistance. He noted the extensive damage to agriculture, livestock, and crops, for which the government appears unprepared to provide compensation. “The government seems to be sleeping,” he remarked, suggesting that it has gone to a “monastery to rest,” which is why flood victims in places like Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Ballia, Varanasi, and Hamirpur are not receiving any help. He questioned how, despite a budget of twenty thousand crore rupees, waterlogging and potholes persist, and floods remain uncontrolled.

Furthermore, Yadav alleged that every sector of the state is rife with anarchy, corruption, and looting. He pointed out that even MLAs and ministers from the ruling party are being forced to stage protests, indicating that their grievances are not being heard. He claimed that the BJP government has deceived everyone—farmers, the youth, women, and the general public—during its nine-year tenure, and has done nothing but squander public funds, leading to the destruction of the state’s development.
Concluding his statement, Yadav declared that the BJP government’s claims and promises have all proven to be false. He called the government a “curse” for the state and said it has pushed the people into crisis. He stated that the public is eagerly awaiting the assembly elections and is ready to remove the BJP from power, which he believes is the only way for the demands of farmers and the youth to be met.
