London — Olympic gold medallist and India’s javelin star Neeraj Chopra had a front-row seat to tennis history at the Wimbledon 2025 Final, and the experience left a lasting impression. Speaking exclusively to Star Sports, Chopra shared his excitement, admiration for tennis legends, and what it felt like attending his very first tennis tournament — at the All England Club, no less.
“I’m feeling very good,” Chopra said with a smile. “This is my first tennis tournament — and that too, Wimbledon — so I’m really enjoying it. I’ve always seen clips where Federer would win and wear that grass coat, and I knew a little about the tradition. The all-white dress code, the atmosphere — it all feels so special in person.”
Chopra, who met Roger Federer in Zurich last year, spoke warmly of the Swiss maestro. “Federer is very inspiring — not just because of how he played, but also because of the person he is. I had a great conversation with him, and it felt really nice. He carries himself with so much grace. The way he used to glide on the court — it was amazing.”

But Federer wasn’t the only legend who made an impact on Chopra. The Olympic champion also expressed deep admiration for Rafael Nadal. “Nadal used to play with so much heart. His willpower and that never-give-up attitude always stood out for me,” he said. “He was so physically strong — not like your typical tennis player. He looked like a fighter. Powerful. That’s why I always felt Nadal was special.”
As Chopra continues to inspire millions with his own performances on the field, his visit to Wimbledon served as a reminder of how elite athletes admire greatness across sporting arenas. From Olympic stadiums to Centre Court, the spirit of competition and respect for champions remains universal.
