Rahul Gandhi Targets PM Modi Over Unemployment: “Made People Fry Pakoras, Fill Forms, Broke Every Promise in 11 Years”

New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, accusing him of failing to deliver on promises made over the past 11 years, particularly on the issue of unemployment. Citing a media report claiming that over 18 lakh businesses have shut down in the last seven years, Gandhi criticized the government’s handling of employment and the economy.

In a Facebook post, Gandhi wrote, “Modi ji has broken every promise in the last 11 years. The pledge of two crore jobs turned out to be just another jumla (empty slogan). He made people fry pakoras and fill job forms, but gave no direction to the youth.”

Highlighting the despair among young Indians, he added, “No jobs after degrees, no recruitment after years of preparation, no respect after hard work. This isn’t just unemployment—it’s neglect of our youth. Give them a dream. Make them partners in nation-building.”

The Congress leader emphasized the need for a “jobs revolution,” asserting that the current government is incapable of solving the crisis as it is “the root cause of the problem.”

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks come amid a heated national debate on employment and economic growth, with opposition parties accusing the government of masking a deepening job crisis.
