Lucknow: Manish Kumar, a student of Deen Dayal Government College, Sitapur, Lucknow University, won the silver medal in the 120 kg weight category yesterday in the All India Inter-University Powerlifting Competition being held at the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai.
P Kumaram of Chennai stood first and Mohammad Hasim of Gujarat stood third. Dr. Anup Kumar of Deen Dayal Government College had trained this team. Honorable Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai congratulated Manish for this achievement and also congratulated the Principal of Deen Dayal Government College, Sitapur and Dr. Anup Kumar. President of Lucknow University Sports Council, Prof. Rupesh Kumar said on this occasion that Manish Kumar, a member of the medal winning team, has also got a place in Khelo India. And congratulated all the members of the entire team for the silver medal.
