Lucknow: In July, more than 50.12 lakh devotees visited Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, with the holy month of Shravan beginning on July 22nd.
The first day of Shravan coincided with a Monday, drawing over 3.21 lakh devotees to the temple. On the second Monday, more than 3.09 lakh devotees chanted “Har Har Mahadev” as they paid their respects.
On the first Monday of Shravan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also performed worship using the Shodashopachar method. The CM issued special instructions to the local administration, police, and temple officials to ensure the convenience and security of the devotees.
A total of 5,012,663 devotees visited Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple between July 1 and 30. In response to CM Yogi’s directives, facilities were provided for smooth darshan, and the local district and police administration remained vigilant to ensure security in Varanasi. On the first Monday of Shravan, 321,884 devotees attended, while the second Monday (July 29) saw 309,716 devotees at Baba’s Dham.
On the first Monday of Shravan, CM Yogi traveled from Gorakhpur to Azamgarh for a review meeting before arriving in Varanasi. There, he met with public representatives and held a review meeting to discuss the convenience, security, and smooth darshan for the devotees. Following the meeting, the Chief Minister himself performed darshan and puja at Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Preparations by the local administration, police, and temple officials are already underway for the upcoming Mondays in the month of Shravan.
