Veer Savarkar Truly Deserves the Bharat Ratna: Gopal Rai

Lucknow. On the death anniversary of the great freedom fighter and Hindutva ideologue Veer Damodar Savarkar, Vishva Hindu Raksha Parishad President Gopal Rai paid heartfelt tribute in Lucknow. A large number of organization members, officials, and individuals inspired by Savarkar’s ideals were present at the occasion.

After offering floral tributes at the Gomti Nagar office, Gopal Rai stated that Veer Savarkar was not just a revolutionary but also a powerful thinker and nationalist. His life is a testament to struggle and sacrifice. He emphasized the need to embrace Savarkar’s principles to contribute to nation-building.

Rai elaborated on Savarkar’s life, contributions, and his concept of Hindutva. He highlighted Savarkar’s imprisonment in the dreaded Cellular Jail (Kala Pani), his book on the 1857 revolution, and his revolutionary stance against British rule. Acknowledging Savarkar’s invaluable sacrifices for India’s independence, Rai demanded that the government bestow the Bharat Ratna upon this true son of Mother India. Expressing his disappointment, he remarked that even after 77 years of independence, Savarkar’s contributions have not received the recognition they deserve, which is truly shameful. He affirmed that the Vishva Hindu Raksha Parishad is committed to making every possible effort to ensure Veer Savarkar is honored with the Bharat Ratna.

Prominent attendees at the event included National Vice President Suresh Chandra Dubey, Rachna Gautam, Himanshu Dhaval, Shivam Singh Rana, Kuldeep Mishra, Ayush Sagar, and several others.
