UP State Backward Classes Commission for Local Rural Bodies to Tour Four Districts of Devipatan Division from August 5–8

Public Hearings, Official Meetings, and Village Panchayat Visits Planned in Bahraich, Gonda, Shravasti, and Balrampur

Gonda, August 4, 2026 — The Chairman and members of the Uttar Pradesh State Backward Classes Commission dedicated to Local Rural Bodies will tour four districts of the Devipatan Division — Bahraich, Gonda, Shravasti, and Balrampur — between August 5 and 8. Led by Commission Chairman Justice (Retd.) Ram Autar Singh, the team — which includes members Brijesh Kumar (retired District Judge), Santosh Kumar Vishwakarma (retired ADJ), Dr. Arvind Kumar Chaurasia (retired IAS), and S.P. Singh (retired IAS) — will hold public hearings across the districts, meet with relevant officials and public representatives to gather objections and suggestions on matters concerning local rural bodies, and carry out on-ground inspections of development blocks and gram panchayats to review ongoing development work and local arrangements.

As per the schedule, the Commission will hold a public hearing in Bahraich on August 5 from 12 noon to 2 pm. On August 6, a meeting and public hearing will be held in Gonda from 11 am to 1 pm. On August 7, the Commission will conduct a public hearing and inspection in Shravasti from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Finally, on August 8, following a meeting and public hearing in Balrampur from 11 am to 1 pm, the team will visit development blocks and gram panchayats to take stock of local arrangements and development work.

The tour is being undertaken with the objective of ensuring effective resolution of issues related to local rural bodies and assessing ground realities across the division.
