Tribal Participation Festival to be celebrated in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The Social Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh will organize a grand event ‘Tribal Participation Festival’ on the occasion of “Tribal Pride Day” on November 15, 2024. For the successful organization of this event, Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Dr. Hariom held a meeting in the meeting hall at Bapu Bhavan and instructed the officers that all the preparations related to the program should be completed on time. There should be a clear glimpse of tribal life in the program. The artists coming to this program should not face any kind of problem.

He informed that in the program, various programs will be presented by teams from 22 states of India – Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Sikkim, Tripura, Assam, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Mizoram, Meghalaya, West Bengal and Delhi, besides two teams from abroad. Along with tribal artists, programs of nomadic tribes, acrobats, bean, impersonator and bhapang playing, kaachi ghori, logman, puppetry will also be organized.

The Principal Secretary said that in the program, apart from handicrafts, costumes, cuisine, tribal games made by tribal artists, a craft fair of 100 shops decorated with attractive crafts will be organized. Presentation and exhibition of tribal musical instruments will also be organized. He said that photo session, folk dance, unique confluence of folk arts will be the center of attraction for the audience in the tribal handicraft fair. There is a proposal to set up different types of rangoli and swings etc.

It is noteworthy that on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, Tribal Pride Day will be organized at Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy, Lucknow from 15 to 20 November 2024 under the joint aegis of Social Welfare Department, Uttar Pradesh Folk and Tribal Culture Institute Lucknow (Culture Department), Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste and Tribe Research and Training Institute, Partnership and Tribal Development Department, IFFCO, New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy.
