Lucknow: In order to update the voter list in the state, action is being taken to update the voter list. Chief Electoral Officer of the state Navdeep Rinwa had issued instructions to update the voter list through BLO under the activities before the special summary revision program of the voter list of the assembly constituencies on the basis of the eligibility date 01 January 2025, under which the BLO has identified voters of the shifted, deceased and repeated category by conducting door-to-door verification from 20 August to 10 September 2024.
The Chief Electoral Officer, through video conferencing from the auditorium room of his office, directed all the District Magistrates to dispose of the forms received by the BLO during door-to-door verification as per rules before 03 October 2024.
Along with this, the settlement of claims for inclusion of names in the voter list on the basis of the eligibility date of October 01, 2024 was also asked to be ensured by October 03, so that a draft of a pure, substantial and error-free voter list can be published on October 29.
The Chief Electoral Officer directed the District Election Officers of Lucknow, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Chitrakoot, Shahjahanpur, Unnao, Rampur districts to ensure that all the remaining Form-07 related to the identified cases of shifted, deceased and repeated category during door-to-door verification is filled by the concerned BLO in the next two days.
The Chief Electoral Officer informed that under the Sambhajan process, action is being taken to create new polling booths or reorganize the existing booths on the basis of maximum 1500 voters. The process of Sambhajan has been ensured by giving priority to making the process of voting by the voters smooth. All the District Election Officers, Deputy District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers of the state attended the meeting.
