JAIPUR: Sur Sangam Sansthan will organise its 37th National Youth Music Conference in Jaipur on October 1 and 2, 2026, providing a national platform for emerging young singers in both light and classical music.
This year’s conference will be dedicated to the memory of the organisation and Veena Music Group founder-chairman, late K.C. Maloo, who passed away unexpectedly following a heart attack on July 14.
Renowned ghazal singer Pinaz Masani unveiled the poster for the 37th edition of the conference in Jaipur on Sunday. National secretary of Sur Sangam Sansthan Mukesh Agrawal and Prasanjeet Maloo, son of K.C. Maloo and managing director of Veena Music Event, were also present.
Agrawal said the annual national music competition would feature separate junior and senior categories, with participants from across the country competing in light and classical music. He described the Sur Sangam platform as a valuable opportunity for promising young musicians to showcase their talent before a national audience.
The registration process has been made available online, with September 5, 2026, set as the last date for applications. Selected participants will be invited to Jaipur for the grand finale on October 1 and 2.
Speaking at the poster launch, Pinaz Masani said India has no shortage of young musical talent, but emerging artists need recognition, proper guidance and access to credible platforms.
“In an era dominated by auto-tune and digital platforms, identifying genuine talent has become increasingly challenging,” she said, stressing the importance of institutions such as Sur Sangam Sansthan in discovering and nurturing promising singers.
Masani said that over the past 37 years, the organisation has identified, trained and provided national exposure to more than two lakh young singers. She credited the late K.C. Maloo and Mukesh Agrawal with creating opportunities for several emerging artists who subsequently gained recognition at the national level.
She also highlighted the importance of the traditional guru-shishya approach to musical training. According to her, while numerous digital platforms now conduct talent hunts, institutions that have consistently worked to identify and nurture talent over several decades can provide a more sustainable pathway for young musicians.
Prasanjeet Maloo said this year’s grand finale would be hosted at the five-star Bilwa Palace on Tonk Road in Jaipur. Selected participants from across the country will be provided complimentary accommodation and meals at the venue, along with access to reputed music gurus.
Well-known personalities from the Bollywood and Indian music industry are also expected to join the jury. The panel is set to include Pinaz Masani, noted composer Sohail Sen, music director Deepak Pandit, acclaimed singer Pratibha Baghel and popular singer Raja Hasan, among others.
The organisers have invited young music talents from across India to take advantage of the national platform and complete their online registration before the September 5 deadline.
The 37th National Youth Music Conference is expected to bring together promising young voices from different parts of the country while continuing Sur Sangam Sansthan’s long-standing effort to identify, mentor and promote emerging musical talent.
