Bareilly– The 24th Convocation Ceremony of Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology (SRMSCET) was held on February 8, 2025, commemorating the 115th birth anniversary of the inspiration behind SRMS Trust, Late Ram Murti. The grand event saw the distribution of degrees, certificates of merit, and medals to 247 students from SRMSCET and Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering, Technology & Research (SRMSCETR) who successfully graduated in the academic session 2023-2024 across B.Tech, B.Pharma, MBA, and MCA programs.
In addition, under SRMS Trust’s ‘Fee Waiver Scheme,’ eight meritorious students across various disciplines, including MBBS and Nursing, received financial assistance totaling INR 11.33 lakh. Among the awardees, Priyank Gupta (SRMSCET) and Deeksha Patel (SRMSCETR) were honored with the prestigious ‘Shri Ram Murti Gold Medal’ along with a cash prize of INR 51,000 for securing the highest marks in the 2020-2024 B.Tech batch. Furthermore, Kajal Pandey (SRMSCET) and Archana Mishra (SRMSCETR) received special awards for their outstanding performance in sports.
The convocation was presided over by Professor (Dr.) Jai Prakash Pandey, Vice Chancellor of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), who blessed the graduates and urged them to define their vision and mission clearly without hesitation. Encouraging them to be fearless and unbiased in their decisions, he emphasized the importance of self-evaluation as a crucial step toward success.
The grand event, held at the Shri Ram Murti Auditorium, had Amitabh Tiwari, Delivery Center Head of Tata Consultancy Services, Lucknow, as the Chief Guest, while Manish Kaushal, Director of Data Engineering at McAfee Inc., Bengaluru, graced the ceremony as the Guest of Honor. SRMS Trust’s Managing Trustee, Dev Murti, Secretary Aditya Murti, and Trust Advisor Engineer Subhash Mehra paid floral tributes to Late Ram Murti and inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The convocation began with Saraswati Vandana, the institution’s anthem, and the university song.
SRMS Trust Chairman Dev Murthy extended warm greetings to all distinguished guests and congratulated the degree recipients for their academic achievements. Reflecting on SRMS Trust’s commitment to education, healthcare, and social upliftment, he highlighted the institution’s fee waiver initiative, which aims to support one deserving student in each course with a full tuition fee waiver throughout their program.
Furthermore, Dev Murti introduced the Trust’s latest efforts in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through its dedicated Innovation and Incubation Cell. He announced three significant startup ventures initiated under the Trust’s mentorship:
- PIOUS Biasphere Pvt Ltd – Focused on waste recycling and refurbishing old machinery, including the production of bags using waste plastic and wrappers.
- Victuals Wellness Pvt Ltd – A venture dedicated to mushroom cultivation and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
- Blithe Boom Systems Pvt Ltd – An enterprise specializing in e-health solutions and My Trip Advisor services.
The convocation ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and dignitaries. The event concluded with a note of encouragement from Vice Chancellor Dr. Jai Prakash Pandey, inspiring graduates to embrace challenges and contribute to the nation’s progress.
