Lucknow: In Zone-4 of Lucknow Municipal Corporation, solid waste collection from households and commercial establishments is being done. Presently, after the contract of Lucknow Swachhata Abhiyan Sanstha was signed by the Municipal Corporation, 121 battery operated vehicles have been installed for household waste collection in a total of 10 wards of Zone-4, along with 24 vehicles for solid waste collection from commercial establishments and the organization has appointed 36 supervisors, 2 unit in-charges and one zonal officer for supervision of this work. Along with this, all the zonal officers, ZSO of the zone have also been deployed.
Portable compactors have been installed for waste collection and transportation at various places (Kailash Kunj, Nishatganj, Paper Mill and Lucknow Club) to establish a cleanliness system for the work of the employees of the organization so that the waste can be transported in a scientific manner.
Toll free number 1800-1234-999 has also been issued by the organization for complaints and suggestions related to solid waste management. Along with this, ZO and ZSO of all zones have also been directed that where recyclable garbage is being collected illegally and its sale etc.
