Sobti Public School and Basubarl Senior Secondary Enter Semifinals on Day 9 of SRMS Inter-School Cricket Tournament

Bareilly: The ninth day of the Shri Ram Murti Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament Season 7 witnessed intense competition as the third and fourth quarterfinal matches were played, with Sobti Public School and Basubarl Senior Secondary School securing their spots in the semifinals.

In the third quarterfinal, Sobti Public School defeated Jamuna Prasad Memorial (JPM) School by 53 runs. After winning the toss, Sobti captain Srijan Sharma opted to bat first. The team posted a strong total of 160 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs. The innings was anchored by an शानदार knock from Kazi Hamza Ahmed, who scored 73 runs off 66 balls, supported by contributions from Naimish Pandey (23) and Shoaib Ali (25). In reply, JPM School was bowled out for 107 runs in 17.5 overs. Kazi Hamza Ahmed was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance.

The fourth quarterfinal saw Basubarl Senior Secondary School register a 17-run victory over Bedi International School. Batting first, Basubarl were bowled out for 117 runs in 17.1 overs. Chasing the target, Bedi International struggled despite a fighting 59-run innings by Vishal, eventually finishing at 100 for 7 in 20 overs. Vishal was awarded Man of the Match for his resilient effort.

Earlier, SR International School and Vidya World School had already booked their semifinal berths. The semifinals, scheduled for Friday, will see SR International face Sobti Public School, while Basubarl Senior Secondary School will take on Vidya World School.

The tournament is being organized by SRMS College of Engineering and Technology and is recognized by the Bareilly Cricket Association.
