Rajinikanth mania reaches fever pitch

Mumbai: Director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s highly anticipated action thriller “Coolie” is set to release worldwide on August 14. The announcement was made by production house Sun Pictures on social media. Starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, this marks his 171st film and revolves around the theme of gold smuggling. The film features an ensemble cast including Telugu star Nagarjuna, Kannada actor Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and veteran actor Sathyaraj. Actresses Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, and Junior MGR also play key roles, while Pooja Hegde has recently joined the cast. Music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

One of the film’s biggest highlights is the reunion of Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj after 38 years. They last appeared together in the 1986 Tamil blockbuster “Mr. Bharath”, where Sathyaraj played Rajinikanth’s father. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had earlier turned down roles in Rajinikanth’s films like “Enthiran” and “Sivaji”. There’s also buzz about a cameo by Aamir Khan, though no official confirmation has been made yet. Coolie has already generated massive buzz.
