Aim to replicate the women-centric helpline in Rajasthan for improved safety and swift action
Lucknow — A special delegation from the Rajasthan Police’s Women and Child Safety Organization visited the 1090 Women Power Line Helpline headquarters in Lucknow to study its operational model. The team’s objective was to understand the functioning of the helpline as they plan to launch a similar initiative in their state.
The visiting team included Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Devendra Kumar Bishnoi, Additional SP Mahesh Sharma, Dharmendra Kumar, and Deputy Director Vishal Singh. They explored the integrated approach of 1090, which has become a model for women’s safety services across India.
Focus on Swift Action and Women’s Safety
Addressing the delegation, ADG, Women and Child Safety Organization, Padmaja Chauhan highlighted that the primary goal of 1090 is to provide a secure environment for women where even minor issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
“The helpline continues to expand, and its integration with the 112 emergency service has significantly enhanced its reach and efficiency,” Chauhan stated. She emphasized that proactive response and swift action are the hallmarks of the 1090 service, making it a vital tool in ensuring women’s safety.
