Professor Upendra Kumar represented India at 3rd International Wheat Congress

Bareilly: Professor Upendra Kumar of the Department of Botany, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly participated in the 3rd International Wheat Congress held in Perth, Australia from 21 to 28 September 2024. At this important international platform, Professor Upendra Kumar presented his exceptional research work done to improve the nutritional quality of wheat, which was appreciated by the global scientific community.

During the Congress, Professor Upendra Kumar had an in-depth discussion on wheat quality improvement with scientists from Australia, England, Switzerland and the US. As a result of this discussion, he prepared a solid framework for further advancement in this field in the future, including collaboration with scientists from different countries. This global collaboration will not only improve the nutritional quality of wheat but will also strengthen food security.

On this important occasion, Professor K.P. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, heartily congratulated Professor Upendra Kumar on his achievement. He said, “It is a matter of great pride for our university and the country that Professor Upendra Kumar has showcased his research talent on a global platform. His participation will benefit not only the university but the entire Indian agricultural scientific community.”

The objective of the Third International Wheat Congress was to discuss scientific research and innovations to improve wheat production and its nutritional quality at the global level. Professor Upendra Kumar’s contribution in this direction is certainly commendable and inspiring.
