Police Recruitment Board Declares Final Results for 60,244 Constable Posts in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: On the occasion of Holi, the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board announced the final results for the recruitment of 60,244 constable posts in the Civil Police for the 2023 recruitment drive. Among the selected candidates, 12,048 are female aspirants. The Chairman of the Recruitment Board and Director General, Rajeev Krishna, extended his congratulations to the selected candidates. The final selection list is now available on the official website of the recruitment board.

Breakdown of Selection by Reservation Category

According to the officials of the Recruitment Board, the distribution of selected candidates across different reservation categories is as follows:

  • Unreserved category: 24,102 candidates
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 6,024 candidates
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 16,262 candidates
  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 12,650 candidates
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 1,204 candidates

Cutoff Scores

The minimum cutoff marks required for selection in different categories are as follows:

  • Unreserved category: Male candidates – 225.75, Female candidates – 212.12
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): Male candidates – 209.26, Female candidates – 193.20
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): Male candidates – 216.58, Female candidates – 200.95
  • Scheduled Caste (SC): Male candidates – 196.17, Female candidates – 180.09
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): Male candidates – 170.03, Female candidates – 146.62

Examination and Selection Process

A total of 48,17,441 candidates had applied for the constable recruitment. Initially, the written examination was conducted on February 17 and 18, 2024. However, due to a paper leak, the exam was canceled. The recruitment board then rescheduled the written examination, which was successfully conducted in ten shifts on August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, 2024.

Exam Absenteeism and Further Process

Strict security measures were enforced at examination centers, yet nearly 28% of the registered candidates did not appear for the exam. More than 1.74 lakh candidates who passed the written test were called for document verification and the Physical Standard Test (PST), which included the physical endurance test (running). Upon completion of all stages, the recruitment board declared the final results.
