Unchahar — Commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, NTPC Unchahar celebrated National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) by organizing a spirited ‘Run for Unity’ Walkathon. The event honored Sardar Patel’s immense contribution to the integration and nation-building of India.
The program began with a floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by Abhay Kumar Srivastava, Executive Director & Head of Project, NTPC Unchahar, along with General Managers Ashutosh Biswas, Dilip Kumar Sahu, and S.U. Haridas. Anupama Srivastava, President of the Priyadarshini Ladies Club, also graced the occasion.
Following the tribute, Srivastava administered the National Unity Pledge to all NTPC employees, reaffirming their dedication to the ideals of unity and integrity. Additionally, as part of Vigilance Awareness Week, participants also took an anti-corruption pledge, reinforcing NTPC’s commitment to transparency and ethical conduct.

The walkathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees across all departments, along with their family members. The presence of department heads, union representatives, and association office bearers added to the significance of the event.
The celebration reflected NTPC’s deep respect for national values and its continued efforts to promote unity, discipline, and integrity — principles that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stood for throughout his life.
