Lucknow: At an age when most children are occupied with schoolwork, sports, and video games, 11-year-old Atharva Jindal, a Class VI student, is spending his time imagining, designing, and building technology-driven solutions to some of society’s everyday challenges.

From healthcare awareness and support for local businesses to improving students’ study habits, the young innovator has already developed three ambitious projects that reflect a remarkable blend of curiosity, creativity, and purpose. While still in their developmental stages, the projects have drawn attention for their practical approach and the maturity of thought behind them.

Turning Health Awareness into an Interactive Experience

Atharva’s first project, MadhumehMitr, focuses on one of the most pressing public health concerns of modern times—lifestyle diseases, particularly diabetes.

Rather than approaching the issue through conventional awareness campaigns, Atharva envisioned a platform that educates users through engagement and interaction. The project combines a gamified learning experience for children with an AI-assisted companion application for adults.

For younger users, MadhumehMitr presents an interactive storyline that explains lifestyle diseases, their causes, risk factors, and preventive measures in a simple and engaging manner. The goal is to encourage healthy habits from an early age by making learning both enjoyable and memorable.

The companion application for adults is designed to simplify health management through a range of intelligent features, including an AI-powered health assistant, personalised recipe recommendations, habit-tracking tools, symptom and health logs, health score analysis, medication and wellness reminders, and curated question lists to help users prepare for medical consultations.

An iOS prototype of the application has already been developed and is undergoing further refinement.

For Atharva, the project carries a mission that goes beyond technology.

“MadhumehMitr is not merely an app—it is a movement. Nobody should fall prey to preventable lifestyle diseases like diabetes,” he says.

He is also quick to acknowledge the contribution of his team, crediting their support and collaboration in helping transform the concept into a working platform.

Supporting Local Businesses Through Digital Innovation

Atharva’s second project, Swadesi, draws inspiration from India’s growing emphasis on self-reliance and the “Make in India” movement.

The e-commerce platform has been designed to provide local vendors with a dedicated digital marketplace where they can showcase and sell Indian-made products. At the same time, it seeks to encourage consumers to make informed purchasing choices by rewarding them for supporting domestic manufacturing.

One of the platform’s distinguishing features is a proposed physical verification system for vendors. Atharva aims to ensure that only authentic Indian-made products are listed, helping maintain consumer trust while promoting genuine local enterprises.

Developed with the support of his team, Swadesi has progressed significantly and is currently the most advanced of his projects. Most of its core functionalities are already operational, and the platform is moving steadily toward deployment following additional testing and refinement.

Reinventing the Study Chair

While MadhumehMitr and Swadesi were developed with collaborative support, Atharva’s third innovation showcases his independent interest in electronics and embedded systems.

Built using the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi platform, the Smart Chair System transforms an ordinary study chair into an intelligent productivity tool designed specifically for students.

The system integrates Pomodoro-based study timers, posture correction alerts, real-time study analytics, Wi-Fi connectivity, EEPROM-based data storage, and a reward-driven achievement framework. Together, these features are intended to encourage disciplined study habits, improve concentration, and promote healthier posture during extended study sessions.

The project reflects Atharva’s belief that technology should not merely entertain but actively help people improve their daily lives.

A Young Mind with a Long-Term Vision

Atharva’s passion for electronics, robotics, and programming fuels much of his work. Outside the classroom, he spends countless hours researching emerging technologies, experimenting with hardware and software, and exploring ways to solve practical problems through innovation.

Although his projects are still evolving, he has already mapped out a long-term development roadmap extending through 2029, with plans to further enhance, test, and eventually scale the solutions for broader adoption.

Despite his accomplishments, Atharva remains grounded, frequently acknowledging the role of his teammates and supporters who have helped bring his ideas closer to reality.
