Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU) Bareilly has been awarded the prestigious A+ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). First position in the Platinum Band category of the Mental Health and Wellness Ranking 2024 (MHW-2024). This remarkable achievement marks the university’s first participation in this national ranking, underlining its commitment to promoting a supportive environment for mental health and well-being.
The leadership of Prof. K.P. Singh, Vice Chancellor of MJPRU has been instrumental in taking the university to excellence. His vision and effective guidance have developed a culture of positivity and dedication, enabling the university to achieve excellence at the state level.
Prof. Singh emphasised that the success of the university is a result of the collective efforts of the teachers, officers, staff, researchers and students, all of whom have worked tirelessly to promote a welfare environment.
Expressing his happiness over the University’s achievement, in his statement, Prof. Singh said, “This Platinum Band status in the Mental Health and Well-being Ranking 2024 is a testimony to our relentless efforts to create a nurturing environment for our academic community. I heartily thank everyone involved for their cooperation and dedication.
He highlighted that the University attaches vital importance to research and innovation with a focus on the mental health and well-being of all its members.
The institutions participating in the MHW-2024 Ranking have been categorized into four different bands: Platinum, Diamond + Advanced, Diamond and Gold + Advanced. The Platinum Band, as the highest category, recognizes institutions that excel in promoting mental health and well-being while demonstrating commitment to the overall well-being of their academic community.
A total of 79 higher educational institutions from across India participated in this year’s ranking, making it a competitive and prestigious recognition. The University’s inclusion in the Platinum Band not only elevates its status but also highlights its commitment to enhance mental and social health among all constituents. It also strengthens the mission of the University. MJPRU aims to implement initiatives that strengthen mental health resources and support systems, thereby enriching the overall educational experience.
The University has initiated various programs and activities focused on mental wellness, underlining its belief that good mental health is fundamental to achieving quality research and academic success. By prioritizing mental health, MJPRU strives to create an environment where students, faculty and staff can thrive both personally and professionally.
Prof. Singh reaffirmed the university’s commitment, saying, “Our goal is to ensure a conducive environment for the well-being of our faculty, officers, staff, research scholars and students. We understand that without good mental health, quality of research and studies cannot be achieved. We will continue to build on this foundation while promoting a culture of support and well-being.
