Prayagraj: The highly anticipated Mahakumbh 2025 is set to host an extraordinary drone display, marking a first for Uttar Pradesh Tourism. This innovative showcase will illuminate the skies above the Sangam Nose region, offering a visual spectacle to delight both devotees and visitors.
The breathtaking event will debut during the Mahakumbh’s opening ceremony and will conclude with another mesmerizing show. According to District Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh, over 2,000 illuminated drones will narrate the mythical tales of “Prayag Mahatmyam” and the Mahakumbh. “The drone display will bring to life iconic events like the mythical Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean) and the emergence of the Amrit Kalash (nectar pot),” she said, adding that the evening skies will transform into a vibrant visual canvas of storytelling.
Revitalizing Prayagraj for a Global Audience
Mahakumbh 2025 aims to elevate Prayagraj as a global cultural hub, aligning with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of a grand and spiritually enriching festival. The city is undergoing massive upgrades, including the development of highways, flyovers, parks, temples, and Ganga ghats.
The event promises to showcase Prayagraj’s religious and cultural heritage through various unique attractions, enhancing the experience for both pilgrims and residents. Advanced surveillance systems have also been installed to ensure crowd safety and efficient management.

The Mahakumbh, held every 12 years, will take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025. As preparations near completion, the state tourism department is working tirelessly to provide an unforgettable experience for millions of pilgrims and tourists.
