Lucknow University observes World Environment Day

World Environment Day

Tree plantation, lectures and training programs were organized on World Environment Day at Lucknow University.

Lucknow: The Department of Land and Gardens, Lucknow University organized a tree plantation program in both the campuses of the university on the occasion of World Environment Day. Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai inaugurated the tree plantation.

Superintendent Land and Gardens Department Prof. S. N. Pandey, and Dr. Shubhan Alam, Dr. Anurag Kumar Srivastava planted a total of 551 plants of various types of fruit, ornamental and medicinal properties in both the campuses of the university and arrangements were made for their long-term care in the future.

In the presence of Dean Student Welfare Prof. Sangeeta Sahu, Prof. Geetanjali Mishra (Dean Academics), many teachers, students, NCC cadets and employees participated in the tree plantation program. In the same sequence, Prof. S. N. Pandey, Superintendent Land and Gardens Department organized a seminar on environmental protection in collaboration with Clean and Green Environment Society and Vigyan Bharti (Awadh Province).
