Lucknow: In the third match of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League, Kanpur Stars led by Sameer Rizvi defeated Lucknow Falcons led by Priyam Garg by 3 runs. Batting first, Kanpur Stars scored 156 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, Lucknow Falcons could only score 153 runs.
Lucknow Falcons captain Priyam Garg won the toss and decided to bowl first. Kanpur Superstars, who came out to bat, did not have a good start. 3 big players of the team were out for just 16 runs and 6 wickets had fallen for 50 runs.
It seemed that now the Kanpur team would not be able to reach even 100 runs. However, in the lower order, captain Sameer Rizvi played a brilliant innings and single-handedly took the team to a challenging score. Sameer Rizvi played an innings of 89 runs with the help of 8 fours and 6 sixes in 51 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave away 33 runs in 4 overs and could not take a single wicket. Batting first, Gorakhpur Lions scored 218 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, thanks to Aryan Juyal’s tremendous century.
