Local college celebrates anniversary with much pomp and show

Lucknow : The 27th anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Government Women’s Post Graduate College, Aliganj was celebrated with great pomp. Folk singer Padmashree Malini Awasthi, present as the chief guest, inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. She distributed prizes to the girl students who secured positions in various competitions.

Priya Srivastava, Shivani Lodhi for highest marks in BA, Pooja Gupta, Bhavna Rai, Nishu Aggarwal in B.Com, Mansi Agarwal, Priyanshi Porwal in B.Com, Simrandeep Gautam, Ritika Yadav in MA History, Anshika Singh, Monica Jha, in M.Eth.  Neetu Devi in MA Home Science, Shruti Bajpai, Sheetal, Priyanka Awasthi in MA Sociology and Apoorva Awasthi, Anshika Maurya in MSc received certificates and awards.

Apart from this, Best NCC Cadet Sakshi Singh, Harshita Singh, Best NSS Volunteer Saumya Rajput, Vandana Rawat and Sports Champion Aastha Rai received the award.

Apart from these awards, the girl students who participated in programs like Slogan Competition, Poster Competition, National Nutrition Day, Rangoli, Chart Making, Science Day, Model Making, Road Safety, Women Cell, Moral Value Enhancement, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat etc. were also given awards by the Chief Guest. In a series of colorful programs, Swasti Shukla presented Ram Geet and Soni Kanojia, Bhavana Singh and Shweta Singh presented singing. Arunima Singh, Subhashini, Meenakshi Pandey, Sneha Gaur, Tanisha, Jaya etc. performed folk dance on the song “Dhani Chunari Mein Munari Lehar Mare”.

Chief guest Malini Awasthi said that folk arts are not only entertainment but also a powerful medium to strengthen personality and self-confidence. He called upon all the girl students to express their talent. They have an important role in nation building. Principal Professor Anuradha Tiwari welcomed the chief guest by presenting a bouquet and memento. He presented the report of the programs completed in the college throughout the year. The Principal said that today’s daughters are measuring the sky and making Chandrayaan. Not only this, daughters are serving the country by joining the army.

On this occasion, the students presented various colorful programs which were highly appreciated. Dr. Bhaskar Sharma, Amit Rajsheel presented soulful songs. The program was successfully conducted jointly by Professor Rashmi Bishnoi and Dr. Shalini Srivastava.
