Ayodhya: As a huge number of devotees are visiting Ayodhya daily to have Ramlala’s darshan from every nook and corner of the country and state, the government has constructed an inter-state bus stand in Ayodhya dham to provide them transportation facilities.
This bus station with high class facilities is situated on the banks of river saryu in Ayodhya dham on NH 27. Apart from Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttarakhand, some major cities as prayagraj, Lucknow, Ambedkarnagar, Bahraich, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Deoria and Nepal border near Sonauli are being served by this transport service . Aditya prakash, ARM of Ayodhya area of upsrtc said that there is a plan to connect other provinces also with this transport service.
Deputy director of transport department R P Yadav said that this inter-state bus stand has been constructed in an area of 9 acres. UP Rajya nirman Nigam has constructed it at a cost of rs 15 crore. Regarding it’s building, there is an agreement between the tourism department and the transport department for 50-50 percent share of profit.
However, the tourism department has not received any benefit till now. A R M Aditya prakash told that this campus is equipped with all kinds of modern facilities. There are 32 plateforms in the premises of the bus stand and about 200 chairs for seating the passengers.
Apart from this there is provision of dormitory for the staff. Water coolers have been installed to arrange drinking water. There is also provision of canteen for breakfast and lunch. For the convenience of the passengers, an inquiry office and ARM chamber have also been built in this building for quick diagnosis of problems.
Eight AC buses are being operated to different cities from this bus station of Ayodhya dham located in a wide area. Along with this, 125 common buses are being operated. In which 97 buses belong to roadways and 28 buses are contracted.there are currently 150 buses in this bus station. Along with this, AC E city buses have also been operated in Ayodhya city for the convenience of the passengers from this bus station.
