India basks in Champion’s Trophy glory

Mumbai: The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour with DP World made a spectacular stop in India, captivating fans in Mumbai and Bengaluru. As part of its global journey across all eight participating nations, the prestigious trophy visited iconic Mumbai landmarks like Wankhede Stadium, Shivaji Park, Gateway of India, Carter Road, Bandstand, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. A major highlight was its presence at Wankhede Stadium’s 50th-anniversary celebration on January 19, featuring India captain Rohit Sharma alongside legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shastri, Ajinkya Rahane, and Diana Edulji.

In Bengaluru, the Trophy Carnival at Nexus Shantiniketan Mall drew large crowds, while the trophy also toured landmarks such as Bengaluru Palace, Freedom Park, KR Market, Town Hall, St. Mary’s Basilica, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Church Street, and Vidyarthi Bhavan. The India leg concluded with fans eagerly awaiting the tournament, scheduled in Pakistan and the UAE from February 19 to March 9. The tour now heads to its final stop—Pakistan.
