New Delhi: IDFC FIRST Bank has completed the integration of its payment gateway with the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), enabling taxpayers across India to pay direct taxes through multiple digital and physical channels.
Taxpayers can now use UPI, credit cards, debit cards and IDFC FIRST Bank’s retail and corporate internet banking platforms to make direct tax payments. Customers opting for offline payments can visit any IDFC FIRST Bank branch and pay through cash, cheque or demand draft.

Customers of other banks can also make direct tax payments through their respective bank’s internet banking facility by accessing the IDFC FIRST Bank payment gateway.
The integration is aimed at making tax payments simpler and more convenient for taxpayers irrespective of their banking relationship. Users can also download their challans and payment confirmations for future reference.

Shirish Bhandari, Head–Retail Liabilities, Cards and Payments, IDFC FIRST Bank, said taxpayers can now choose their preferred payment method, including UPI, internet banking and debit or credit cards, through a secure and convenient platform.
IDFC FIRST Bank is among the private sector banks authorised by the CBDT to collect direct taxes and has been strengthening its digital payments infrastructure to address the evolving requirements of individuals and businesses.
How to Pay Direct Taxes Through IDFC FIRST Bank
- Log in to the Income Tax e-Filing Portal.
- Generate the required challan and select the ‘Payment Gateway’ option.
- Choose IDFC FIRST Bank as the payment gateway.
- Select UPI, credit card, debit card or internet banking and complete the payment.
- Download or print the paid challan for future reference.
The facility is intended to provide taxpayers with multiple payment options while simplifying the process of making and documenting direct tax payments.
