Bareilly: In a major push towards strengthening academic infrastructure, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research–Indian Veterinary Research Institute (Deemed University) marked a significant milestone with the foundation stone laying ceremony of a proposed state-of-the-art teaching complex.
The three-storey, centrally air-conditioned facility was inaugurated by Dr. Raghavendra Bhatta, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR and Director of IVRI. The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. J.S. Tyagi, Director of Central Avian Research Institute, along with senior academic and administrative officials of the institute.
Designed to cater to the growing needs of students, the modern complex will feature five smart classrooms with a seating capacity of 100 students each, along with two dedicated examination halls. Additional facilities will include committee rooms, staff rooms, office spaces, and a Community Connect Centre aimed at fostering stronger engagement between academia and society.
During the ceremony, Dr. Rajat Garg, Undergraduate Coordinator, presented the architectural layout, highlighting the strategic design of the building. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bhatta emphasized the institute’s commitment to developing infrastructure that supports both academic excellence and societal outreach. He also stressed the importance of timely execution, directing that the project be completed within the stipulated 24-month timeframe.

Dr. S.K. Mendiratta, Joint Director (Academic), noted that the initiative would significantly enhance the teaching and research environment at IVRI.
Construction work on the ambitious project is expected to commence shortly.
