Employees of Nainital Bank to demand merger with Bank of Baroda

Bareilly: The Nainital Bank Officers Association has called for a One day Strike on 15th June against Disinvestment move by Bank of Baroda after the talks during the Conciliation Meeting with Assistant Labour Commissioner , Bareilly failed on 07th june 2024. The ALC had conducted a conciliation meeting between the Management of NAINITAL Bank Ltd and Bank of Baroda with the representatives of NBOA in Kanpur to resolve the concerns of the employees regarding their service conditions in the wake of the Disinvestment by Bank of Baroda, as it failed to provide any concrete relief.

The officers union were represented by President Chandra Shekhar Kanyal, Vice Presidents Sahil Khan, Sumit Tewari and Assistant General Secretary Nisha Kamath informed the media that the bank officers will go ahead with the one day strike call for 15th june .2024 and requested the valued customers of the Bank to co-operate with them as their future job prospects are at a risk in view of the Disinvestment move of BOB.

The Nainital Bank employees are demanding for at par merger of the Bank with Bank of Baroda by implementing the recommendations of the parliamentary petition committee of 16th Lok Sabha,which had thoroughly investigated the petition filed by the Nainital Bank Officers Association against the sale of valuable Banking Licence to private sector investors at the pretext of Digital Ventures.

The Union representatives told the media persons that even the Regulatory authority of Reserve Bank of India has been advising the Bank of Baroda to merge this exclusive Subsidiary Bank with it as continuing the bank independently has since been untenable given the present banking scenario in the country.
