District-Level Monthly NCORD Meeting Held in Bareilly to Tackle Narcotics Offenses

Bareilly: The district-level monthly meeting of the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) was convened  at the Vikas Bhawan auditorium under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar. The meeting focused on ensuring effective control over narcotics-related crimes, strengthening legal action under NDPS and Gangster Acts, and increasing public awareness on health and punitive aspects of drug offenses.

During the meeting, officials were instructed to submit details of major narcotics cases to the Additional District Magistrate (City) to facilitate focused discussions during prosecution review meetings. Emphasis was placed on effective prosecution of NDPS and Gangster Act cases, along with conducting awareness campaigns addressing both health concerns and legal penalties associated with narcotics crimes.

A specific directive was issued to compile data on cases involving commercial quantities of narcotics registered since January 1, 2025, and to provide a detailed report on the actions taken by the police and judiciary in these matters.

Furthermore, the District Excise Officer was instructed to complete all formalities for shops allocated via e-lottery and to proceed with further action at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate (City) Saurabh Dubey, SP Traffic Mohammad Akmal Khan, the District Excise Officer, and other concerned officials.
