Gonda: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Devipatan Range, Ashok Kumar reviewed preparations for the upcoming phase of the Mission Shakti campaign during a meeting at the Reserve Police Lines auditorium in Gonda.
The meeting was attended by Mission Shakti in-charges from districts across the range, district nodal officers and women police personnel deployed at Women Help Desks. The DIG reviewed the progress of the campaign and sought details regarding preparations for its next phase.
DIG Ashok Kumar interacted with police personnel to understand challenges faced during implementation, as well as the availability and requirements of buildings, basic facilities and other resources for Mission Shakti teams. He also sought suggestions from women police personnel and directed officials to ensure that necessary infrastructure and resources are made available at the centres.
Emphasising awareness, the DIG directed police personnel to provide women and girls with information about government welfare schemes, helpline numbers and cyber safety. He also instructed officials to periodically review the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued for Mission Shakti and ensure compliance.
The DIG stressed that women approaching police stations must not face inconvenience and that their privacy, dignity and respect must be protected at all times. Women Help Desk personnel were directed to deal with complainants with sensitivity, courtesy and patience, understand their concerns and ensure necessary action according to law.
He said the campaign aims not only to promote women’s safety and empowerment but also to strengthen awareness of rights and public confidence in the police. Officials and personnel were urged to discharge their responsibilities with sensitivity, promptness and accountability.
Superintendent of Police Gonda Abhishek Jha, Additional SP Gonda Ajit Kumar Rajak, Additional SP Balrampur Vishal Pandey, Additional SP Shravasti Chandrakesh Singh, Circle Officer Payagpur Harshita Tiwari and other concerned officials and personnel attended the meeting.
