CCTVs to keep a hawk eye on traffic defaulters

Lucknow: During the inauguration of Traffic Month-2024 at the Reserve Police Line, Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Law and Order, Amit Verma, announced enhanced measures to monitor traffic rule violations. Cameras will be used to automatically issue fines for offenses, with police and traffic teams remaining active on the ground. Awareness campaigns will be held at schools, intersections, offices, and public places to educate people on the importance of following traffic rules.

JCP Verma highlighted that most accidents are caused by speeding, and special monitoring will target such drivers using speed sensors and cameras installed on key routes in the city. These cameras will automatically challan vehicles exceeding speed limits.

The campaign will also focus on educating students through school programs, including road safety oath-taking events. Important safety tips such as wearing helmets, using seat belts, avoiding speeding, and staying off mobile phones while driving will be emphasized to ensure safer roads for everyone.
