Bareilly: District Magistrate Avinash Singh chaired a meeting with bankers and authorised vendors to address issues faced by applicants in obtaining bank loans under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme, with an emphasis on speeding up approvals and achieving the district’s implementation targets.
The meeting, held at the Vikas Bhavan auditorium, focused on identifying the reasons behind delays in loan sanctions by various banks. Officials discussed the bottlenecks affecting applicants and explored measures to resolve them through coordination with higher authorities.
The District Magistrate directed officials and bankers to take prompt action to remove procedural hurdles so that a larger number of eligible beneficiaries could receive financial assistance for installing rooftop solar systems under the central government’s flagship scheme.
He also instructed all banks to ensure that loan applications submitted under both the PM Surya Ghar Scheme and the Chief Minister Yuva Scheme are processed without unnecessary delay and that no eligible applications remain pending.
Emphasising the importance of timely loan approvals, Singh said effective coordination between banks, implementing agencies and vendors is essential for meeting the district’s allotted targets and extending the benefits of the schemes to more beneficiaries.
The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer Devyani, Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Project Officer, NEDA, Poonam Bhaskar, the Lead District Bank Manager, representatives of participating banks and authorised vendors.
